GAMbit
Highlights
GAMbit is published quarterly by the Gifted Association of Missouri
to inform educators, parents and others about the unique educational,
social and emotional needs of gifted and talented children and
the issues which impact their development.
The spring issue features an article by Dr. Linda Silverman,
“What We Have Learned About Gifted Children, 1979 – 2007.” Other
articles include “Discover the United Streaming Resources” by
Marge Hocter, “Rest is a Discipline” by Maureen Neihart, and “Time
to Think and Learn” by Colene Wilson. Two parents review books
for this issue. The District News and Events section reports on
activities in each GAM district. The Bulletin Board highlights
achievements of gifted students and teachers along with the announcements
of events and opportunities as well as schedules of course offerings
in gifted education from Missouri Colleges and Universities.
If you have a student who has achieved recognition at the state
or national level, please let GAMbit know. Each year GAM honors
outstanding people for their contributions to gifted education
in Missouri. Nominations are due by July 1. Nomination forms are
included in the spring GAMbit.
Articles and suggestions are welcomed and can be mailed to Lea
Trimble, 134 Industrial Park Dr., Hollister, MO 65672 or leatrimble@tri-lakes.net.
Publication of information does not imply endorsement of sponsorship
of programs or events by the Gifted Association of Missouri unless
such endorsement is specifically stated.
